We all have heard the famous motto “practice what you preach.” In martial arts, instructors encourage and guide others to find a better self. As role models, they can be one of the biggest influencers on our youth as well as adults. Who are the people in our lives that help us find the right paths? They are our parents, teachers, coaches, pastors, and friends. They are ones in power positions such as law enforcement. They are ones we call heroes such as paramedics and firefighters (yes we know law enforcement should be mentioned again here!). Many members of our community help shape us to be the best versions of ourselves.
What happens when we do something kind for another person? It spreads love. We feel good doing it and they feel good knowing they are important. Sometimes the smallest act can cause the biggest ripple effect. Martial Arts creates good people. Schafer’s ATA works hard to not only teach students valuable skills that helps them become confident leaders but they also teach and promote kindness. We give our students the tools to do good for others. How do we do this? We model it. We practice it. We live it.
