Taekwondo

This style of martial arts is used for both self-defense and as a competitive sport. It has been a recognized athletic event in the Olympics for over ten years. Taekwondo is one of the most popular forms of martial arts and is always in demand.

Energized Curriculum

Many of the techniques that are involved in Taekwondo focus on lower body strength, flexibility and muscle enhancement. High kicks and advanced hand techniques are common. Taekwondo teaches students a wide variety of movements that include leaping, kicking, jumping, twisting and blocking.

Coordination is a key element in the Taekwondo curriculum and lets a student become skilled in physical activity.  Body strength is greatly enhanced and serious health conditions can be kept at bay. Physical inactivity is eliminated which fully invigorates each student and promotes reaching one’s limits.

Student Benefits

From young children to older adults, every student is given the attention they need to successfully complete a Rohnert Park taekwondo class. Practice makes perfect and every technique is properly addressed and taught.

Students are able to hone in on their skills regarding coordination, balance, flexibility, focus, self-esteem, self-discipline, responsibility, perseverance, concentration and patience. For a child, their school grades can dramatically increase and for an adult, work projects can be more easily completed. The positive benefits of taekwondo are limitless and are useful for any area of life.

Welcoming Learning Environment

Open communication is encouraged by our Rohnert Park taekwondo classes. This allows for mutual respect between instructor and student. As a result, taekwondo skills can be taught in the optimum conditions where trust is held high.

There are numerous modern Taekwondo commandments or codes that are used in this martial art which include consideration, honesty and being polite. These are all fundamental building blocks for a well-functioning individual.

Taekwondo Belt

There are various belts that can be earned along the way. It is one of the goal-setting techniques that are used by Rohnert Park taekwondo instructors to encourage students to achieve their objectives. Each Taekwondo belt has a different color and is awarded in a predetermined order: white, yellow, green, blue, red and black.

In order to attain each belt, Rohnert Park taekwondo will typically require students to pass achievement tests. They will be evaluated based on skill, ability, power and control. When a student acquires each Taekwondo belt, they demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of this popular art form.
